Deadpool Review

Deadpool could be the comic book movie that changes perceptions of what a superhero film has to be and could impact the future.

Forget the Deadpool you may have seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine as that was just a terrible version of the character that should just be forgotten about. This is the real Deadpool that the fans of the comics wanted to see and will make those that haven’t read the comics understand the anger towards the first Deadpool we saw on the big screen. But is this one of the best comic book movies or does it fail in its attempts to satisfy the fans?Deadpool.png

Spotlight Review

Spotlight is a film that will certainly make you think about a lot of things and might change your opinions on certain subjects.

Although this film is based on real events and things that actually happened all around the world sometimes when it is seen on a film rather than in the news it hits home more. This Oscar nominated film will go down as one of the best investigative news dramas ever and certainly deserves all the praise it has been getting. But the big question is, what makes this film so good to watch?

Top 10 January 2016 Transfer Window Signings

10 – Anthony Knockaert (Standard Liege to Brighton)

Brighton had a fantastic start to the season but recently they have lost their form and are in a real battle to stay in the playoffs. They needed a spark and Knockaert could just make the difference come the end of the season.

Anthony Knockaert

9 – Steven Caulker (QPR to Liverpool)

This might seem a strange one but Caulker has a lot of potential and at the age of 24 he could go on to become one of England’s leading centre backs. He is better than what Liverpool have, if Klopp stops playing him upfront.

Steven Caulker

8 – Leroy Fer (QPR – Swansea)

Yet another QPR departure and with them getting relegated from the Premier League last year it would seem like they don’t have the quality but in Fer they had a midfielder that can really grab hold of a game which Swansea are in need of.

Leroy Fer

7 – Gianelli Imbula (Porto to Stoke City)

When he joined Stoke eyebrows were raised, especially when they broke their transfer record to bring him in. £18.3 million is a lot of money but Mark Hughes feels he needs more power in central midfield and is the replacement for Steven N’Zonzi.

6 – Steven Naismith (Everton to Norwich City)

He was not prolific for Everton but he can score goals when given the chance. He has got off to a decent start at Norwich and they certainly need more goals in their team if they want to stay in the top flight.

Top 10 Playstation 2 Games Ever

10 – Okami

Combining Japanese myth, legend and folklore to tell the story of how the land was saved from darkness by the Shinto sun goddess, who has taken the form of a white wolf. The cel-shaded visual style looked fantastic on the PS2 and deserved to have been played more.

9 – Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

The reboot of the series saw the unnamed prince return to form and with some very entertaining platforming and action sequences it is definitely worth a play. Using the key game mechanic Dagger to rewind time is very well used throughout the game.

Prince of Persia

8 – Soul Calibur 2

Originally released in the arcades and then ported over to the Playstation 2 is easily one of the best fighting games on the console. The story mode in the game doesn’t really add anything but that doesn’t matter as it is such a good fighting game.

Soul Calibur

7 – Bully

An open world game made by Rockstar will always be entertaining but this one surprised everyone as it was set in a school and focused on the loves of schoolchildren. Obviously there was controversy surrounding the game but it gained positive reviews because of its narrative and characters.

6 – Shadow of the Colossus

With no other enemies than the 16 colossi, it is a different game to most and it could even be argued that it is more of a puzzle game than an action adventure game. One of the first games that can connect with you emotionally.

Ride Along Review

With Ride Along 2 out at the cinemas at the moment it seems like a good time to go back to the first film.

Many people were surprised to see that this film got a sequel because it didn’t go down with fans and critics as well as they might have hoped. But now looking back at the first film, is it worth watching and should you spend your hard earned money to go see the second?

Top 10 Premier League Goalkeepers Ever

10 – Jussi Jaaskelainen

At the age of 40 he is playing for Wigan Athletic but he will be fondly remembered by Bolton Wanderers fans as he helped them gain promotion to the top flight and then was a key part of them qualifying for Europe. Also featured for West Ham.

9 – Pepe Reina

Reina won the Premier League Golden Glove award three times during his eight year spell at Liverpool. At his very best he was undroppable and some were surprised that he was allowed to leave the club when he did and it’s argued he hasn’t been replaced properly.

Pepe Reina

8 – Brad Friedel

Despite not winning many trophies or awards he was by far one of the most consistent goalkeepers ever. Rarely made mistakes and didn’t miss a single Premier League game for eight seasons which just shows how reliable he was and even has a goal to his name.

7 – Shay Given

At 39 he is still contracted to Stoke City and it’s argued that Jack Butland is benefitting from his experience. He will forever be a hero at Newcastle United because with Given they were one of the top teams and played European football regularly and was sublime.

6 – Joe Hart

The England number one has the potential to go on to be one of the best goalkeepers in world football and is at exactly the right club to do that. He will probably be England captain one day and will lift many more trophies in his career.
