The Forest Review

The Forest could have one of the best backstories to any horror film, using the Aokigahara as the main setting.

Known to the Japanese as the ‘Suicide Forest’ it certainly does provide a lot of history and it is well worth doing your research on the place before watching the film and it could make it scarier, as there are a lot of stories to be told. With Natalie Dormer as the lead, with the Game of Thrones behind her, it had a lot of potential but does the film actually use all this history and genuine scares to its advantage or not?

Top 10 Premier League Right Backs

10 – Kyle Walker

The Tottenham right back has been first choice for the club since the 2011-12 season after a successful loan spell at Aston Villa and has grown into the role and is one of the main members of the squad that are now challenging for the Premier League.

9 – Dan Petrescu

The Romanian may have doubled up as a winger at times but his main position was right back and he was definitely a threat from the position. Most known for his time at Chelsea, he also turned out for Sheffield Wednesday, Bradford City and Southampton in England.

Dan Petrescu

8 – Nathaniel Clyne

The 24 year old has been one of the successful transfers of the Brendan Rodgers era at Liverpool and will likely be one of the key members of Jurgen Klopp’s team going forward. Clyne impressed as a youngster at Crystal Palace and made the step up comfortably.

Nathaniel Clyne

7 – Seamus Coleman

One of the bargains in Premier League history. When Everton paid £60,000 for the right back they wouldn’t have believed how good he will be seven years later. He is one of the most impressive full backs in the league and is a danger to the opposition.

Seamus Coleman

6 – Stephen Carr

The right back has retired twice but somewhat surprisingly after he came back from his first retirement he arguably became an even more consistent player. He appeared over 200 times for first club Tottenham before moving onto Newcastle United and Birmingham City where his career was rejuvenated.

Far Cry 4 Review

Far Cry Primal may have been released recently but it is worth going back to Far Cry 4 to see if it still holds up.

All of the Far Cry games have similarities but have different storylines and characters so they are all worth checking out separately to discover which your favourite is. So to start this review it is worth saying if you didn’t enjoy Far Cry 3 then there is no point giving the fourth instalment a go. But there is a lot more going in and some of the criticisms aimed at 3 have been resolved.

Making a Murderer Review

Making a Murderer has provoked a lot of conversation about the harrowing story of Steven Avery to discover whether he is actually innocent or guilty?

Netflix have done it again as the show possesses the hallmark quality of anything that works well on the platform and that is binge watching. The episodes are just so hard to stop watching as you need to find out the truth and want to know what is going to come out next. There has been uproar and it has made people talk about the case which wouldn’t have been possible without this documentary.

Triple 9 Review

Triple 9 grabbed a lot of people’s attention because of the cast and the director but did it get to everyone’s expectations?

One thing to take from this film is how much can an ending really impact the enjoyment the audience receives from watching it? Obviously the ending to a film is important but can it really take a film that has been good to poor in just a few scenes or even seconds? Well Triple 9’s ending has definitely split opinion and not in a good way and don’t worry there will be no spoilers to the ending in this review.

Top 10 Premier League Centre Backs

10 – Gary Pallister

Manchester United were so desperate to get Pallister that they broke the record paid for a defender and the centre back delivered for them and was certainly worth the investment. Forming one of the best partnerships with Steve Bruce, he helped the club to four league titles.

9 – Vincent Kompany

One of the bargains of the Premier League era. Manchester City may be able to throw their money around these days but Kompany is still badly missed when he is out of the team and it would seem like no amount of money can replace the Belgian.

Kompany

8 – Sami Hyypia

A Liverpool legend that spent 10 years at the club and certainly a fan favourite on the Kop. Winning many personal awards and helping the club win the Champions league in 2005 would have made not being able to win the league title slightly easier to take.

Hyypia

7 – Jaap Stam

This might be a strange inclusion in the list as the Dutchman only spent three seasons in the Premier League with Manchester United but his quality was there for everyone to see and it isn’t a surprise that he won the title every year he was there.

Stam

6 – Jamie Carragher

At the start of his career he was played in every position on the pitch but when he finally settled as a centre back, he was one of the most consistent to ever play in the position at club level. Was unlucky not to play more internationally.

Top 10 Playstation 3 Games

10 – Dark Souls

One of the most frustrating games and divisive games on this list as some people don’t understand the appeal of the franchise. But if you get into Dark Souls then it certainly is enjoyable in a sadistic way as you better prepare yourself for death after death.

Dark Souls

9 – Portal 2

Some people were unsure on whether Portal deserved a sequel and whether it could be a full length game. However, it proved to be a fantastic decision to bring out a full game and Stephen Merchant’s voice acting is superb. Very few games are funnier than this.

Portal 2

8 – Little Big Planet 2

The campaign and single player modes for this game are really good but what pushes this on to the next level is the content created by its users. Everything from platformer levels to first person shooters to remakes of old games are available in this.

Little Big Planet 2

7 – Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

This is probably a game that a lot of gamers may have missed out on but if given the chance then you should definitely have a try of it. The game’s animated sequences made by Studio Ghibli also make it impressive.

Ni No Kuni

6 – Metal Gear Solid 4

Yet another Metal Gear that makes a best of list but this is arguably one of the most debated of the series as it went down a slightly different route. Still a joy for fans of Hideo Kojima and ends the storyline of Solid Snake.
