10 – Okami
Combining Japanese myth, legend and folklore to tell the story of how the land was saved from darkness by the Shinto sun goddess, who has taken the form of a white wolf. The cel-shaded visual style looked fantastic on the PS2 and deserved to have been played more.
9 – Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
The reboot of the series saw the unnamed prince return to form and with some very entertaining platforming and action sequences it is definitely worth a play. Using the key game mechanic Dagger to rewind time is very well used throughout the game.
8 – Soul Calibur 2
Originally released in the arcades and then ported over to the Playstation 2 is easily one of the best fighting games on the console. The story mode in the game doesn’t really add anything but that doesn’t matter as it is such a good fighting game.
7 – Bully
An open world game made by Rockstar will always be entertaining but this one surprised everyone as it was set in a school and focused on the loves of schoolchildren. Obviously there was controversy surrounding the game but it gained positive reviews because of its narrative and characters.
6 – Shadow of the Colossus
With no other enemies than the 16 colossi, it is a different game to most and it could even be argued that it is more of a puzzle game than an action adventure game. One of the first games that can connect with you emotionally.
